WV WORKFORCE Investment Council

The State of West Virginia, through its Governors WORKFORCE Investment Division, has created the West Virginia WORKFORCE Investment Council.

In 2002, Governor Bob Wise appointed 39 members to the new state WORKFORCE Investment Council. David Lieving, director of the Governor's WORKFORCE Investment Division, told lawmakers his agency seeks more innovation in WORKFORCE development programs, including programs to provide training to current workers, to address skill-shortage areas and to provide workers credentials they can take from job to job.
