Speakers Bureau
The Region 2 WIB Speakers Bureau allows individuals from businesses and local employers throughout our region to educate our youth about the career opportunities in the business world and prepare them to be the productive employees your businesses future depends on.

Job Fair
Throughout the year, the Region 2 WIB hosts and participates in numerous Job Fairs in our seven county region. Hundreds of employers and businesses participate by setting up booths at the events and screening potential employees.

Avoiding/Dealing with Layoffs
Are you facing the need to reduce your WORKFORCE? We can help you maintain your image as a concerned, compassionate employer and get your employees back in the WORKFORCE quicker. The WORKFORCE West Virginia Centers and Learning Centers will provide you with trained personnel counselors to help your employees deal with the effects of a layoff through a transition period.

Informational Meeting
When your company is faced with the reality of a layoff of 50 or less individuals, the Learning Center will bring in career professionals from organizations like unemployment, the WORKFORCE West Virginia Center, Children's Health Insurance and Credit Counseling to give your employees the information they need to stay on the right track during transitional times.

WorkKeys
The Work Keys Assessment is a very valuable tool for any company. It allows you to evaluate the skills of your employees and potential employees. From that evaluation, we can help you identify the areas that can improve your overall productivity, efficiency and profitability.
The results will provide you with specific areas we can help your employees increase their basic skill levels in areas critical for successful performance on the job.
Skill Certification
The Region 2 WORKFORCE Investment Board has partnered with the WORKFORCE West Virginia Centers, Learning Centers and local Chambers of Commerce to provide job seekers and employers with a comprehensive skills enhancement system that allows them or their employees to become "Skills Certified" in the basic skills needed for a specific occupation or for employment.
Through WorkKeys and/or the Region 2 Excel System, a job seeker or employee can participate in training that allows them to demonstrate to their employer or potential employer that they possess the basic skills they need to excel at their career! Basic Skills
Through the WORKFORCE West Virginia Centers and Learning Centers, the Region 2 WIB can provide job seekers and businesses with the training employees need to become more efficient and effective on-the-job.
The Region 2 WIB contracts with employers and training providers to increase the employee's job proficiency by using services such as Read Right, WorkKeys and the Region 2 Excel System and more.

Fee for Service
Certain services within the WORKFORCE West Virginia Centers and Learning Centers do have a fee involved. These fees will be waived for individuals eligible under the WORKFORCE Investment Act of 1998 but may apply to corporate contracts. Many services are available free of charge.

Job Readiness
The WORKFORCE West Virginia Center and Learning Centers assist employers and job seekers in many areas. Just one of those services is the job readiness training that is provided.
Through the Region 2 Excel System, individuals are trained to become productive employees during a six-week, comprehensive program course that teaches skills such as applied math, reading for information, locating information and overall job skills.

Literacy
The ability for employees to read and comprehend information is paramount to any business's success. The WORKFORCE West Virginia Center can train employees in all levels of reading through the Read Right Service.
This comprehensive service allows employees and job seekers to learn the skills they need to process more information and be able to communicate that information better. The Read Right service enhances an individual's current reading level by following a structured classroom-style curriculum that increases that person's comprehension and information-gathering skills.

The Region 2 WIB has created partnerships throughout the seven-county area that allow enterprising individuals to learn skills they need to operate their own business. The entrepreneurial training that is available allows individuals to learn about all the requirements of operating their own business including:

The mission of the Governor's Guaranteed Work Force Program (GGWFP) is to provide quality work force development for West Virginia's new and existing industries, and to expand opportunities available to our labor force through the jobs these industries create.
