Entrepreneurial training is available through the Region 2 WIB and it's partners. The Region 2 WIB can provide you with the information and tools you need to start your own business within the Region and the State of West Virginia.

The Region 2 WIB has produced an instructional video on the process of starting a business within Region 2.

State Information

The State of West Virginia has many resources available to individuals and organizations interested in starting their own business. Both the West Virginia Secretary of State's Office and the West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue have numerous helpful tools and forms online that can help you streamline the start-up of your new business.

Local Information

Region 2 is made up of seven counties in the Southwestern portion of the State of West Virginia. Each of these counties may have certain requirements that you must meet and follow in order to do business in that county. To find out more about the requirements in your county, we encourage you to contact the County Commissioner's office in your location:

You must also determine what requirements there are within the city you plan to do business in. There are 234 incorporated municipalities within the State ofWest Virginia. Each has it's own requirements for the operation of a business within the limits of the municipality. You should contact the local city, or town hall where you plan to operate your business and inquire about the requirements you need to satisfy. Those phone numbers and addresses can also be found in the blue pages of your local phone directory or also by visiting the secretary of state's website at www.wvsos.com.

Business Decisions

The Region 2 WIB, along with their Business Services Team, has produced an informative video focused on all the aspects of starting and running a business within Region 2 and the State of West Virginia.
